What started Ball For Lives in the first place was the idea that basketball had the power to captivate people. So I began to take my dribbling skills and use them to spread a message. In this presentation I share my own basketball story and how I’m now using basketball to make a difference in people’s lives. The goal is to motivate the youth of our nation to think about how they can use their talents and abilities to change the world.

Occh also puts on follow up events that will not only benefit your community, but get students involved in saving the lives of African orphans. My favorite way to do this is to offer an after school instructional basketball clinic where the kids get charged a minimal amount (e.g. $5), and all the proceeds go to Ball For Lives. Churches can use this as a great outreach tool as well. This way the school/church gets a free assembly, the kids get to have a fun event, and money is raised towards saving African orphans!
